EQUINOX FREQUENCY
March 20-22, 2025
Artist Lily Kwong and long-time collaborator, musician and sound practitioner Sandra Orellana Sears, will collaborate across a three day residency during the Spring Equinox with the intention of using the healing potential of sound, nature and creative practice to bring visitors back into balance with themselves and their environment. The duo will come together in Night Gallery's commons to explore elements of the natural world, with Kwong producing a series of lumens with native plants foraged from her land art piece Subterrestrial while Sears offers a live soundscape of vocals and other frequencies to evoke resonance, harmony, and attunement in the space to support both the community and the creative output.
This will be an open, participatory activation where visitors can come witness, receive and spontaneously connect with the innate wisdom and healing power of the earth. Cacao will also be prepared and shared daily to support the creative process and expression throughout the residency. The plant will be woven into Kwong’s lumen practice and available to drink for visitors who are interested in connecting with the frequency of cacao, which is a powerful plant ally in unlocking creative potential.
